April 9, 2017 - Town & Country Lanes, Billings, MT
Dave Winslow of Billings captured his first Double Nickel Championship by defeating Tom Shea of Billings in challenge championship match on Sunday by a score of 236 to 174. Winslow forced the second match by winning the first 215-191. With the win, Winslow took home $251 plus a $75 gift certificate while Shea pocketed $218 plus a $50 gift certificate. The high game was posted by Milt Sausedo of Forsyth with a 280. The high qualifier was Tom Shea with a 897 for four games.

In a championship match that featured two bowlers with the first name of Mike, Mike Chappell of Livingston defeated Mike Hardesty of Bozeman in challenge championship match by a score of 215-186. Chappell forced the second game by winning the first 237-193. With the win, Chappell took home $182 for the win while Hardesty took home $156 for his efforts. The high game was posted by Keith Loran of Billings with a 279 and Ron Decker of Livingston also rolling a 279 in qualifying. The high qualifier was Keith Loran with a 1002 for four games. Chester Gilliam of Lovell, Wyo. defeated Mike Chappell of Livingston in championship match of the senior division (55 and older) by a score of 219-215. In a rematch from last year, Josh Link of Billings defeated Damon Winslow of Billings in the championship match of the junior division (54 and younger) to defeat Damon Winslow of Billings by a score of 247 to 202. Gilliam went on to challenge Link for the grand champion. Gilliam claimed the Grand Champion by defeating Josh Link by a score of 279-223 Link won $276 for winning the Junior division plus $25 in the grand championship match. Gilliam claimed $270 plus $75 for grand championship match. The high game was posted by Damon Winslow of Billings with a 290 game in match play. Honor scores posted were by Damon Winslow (767, 825), Steve Krell (710), Cory Morgan (757), and Josh Link (711). High qualifier for the senior division was Chester Gilliam of 895 for 4 games. Damon Winslow was the high qualifier of the junior division with a 989 for 4 games.

Mike Hardesty of Belgrade won his second straight tournament by defeating Keith Loran of Billings in the championship match by a score of 195-182. With the win, Hardesty took home $210 while Loran pocketed $177 for his efforts. The high game was posted by Jim Blakeley of Roberts who rolled his 15th 300 game during qualifying. The top qualifier was Ken Carcich of Sheridan, Wyo. with a 932 for 4 games. The honor scores posted were Dale Matthaes of Billings with a 714, Ron Engelhardt also from Billings with a 703, and Kelly Glendy of Sheridan, Wyo. with a 702 during match play competition.
